Activities For Parents & Parents To Be

Our Vision

We accompany parents, like you, in meaningful periods of your life such as during a pregnancy, delivery and parenthood. We make the latest information and sights available to you using a variety of classes, workshop and lectures to support you in your journey through parenthood. We provide a safe space for you to share your needs and to ask your questions to our vetted experts.  Matka is a great place to be if you’re in Amsterdam with a baby or young children.

Babies Club

It takes time to adjust to becoming a parent. Being a new mum is in itself an overwhelming experience, let alone leaving the house and establishing a daily routine.

Having a weekly meet-up organized where you’ll meet new mums in the same boat can really help. So come around to drink some coffee, meet other mums, chat, share and get information on topics such as your child’s development, nutrition, sleep and more!

Starting October 3rd with:  ‘Babywearing & Sharing Meet-Up’ which takes place every first Thursday of the month.

Together with Moments with Mothers and Matka, Adapting to Love hosts a monthly babywearing meet-up with the purpose of building a community and sharing knowledge about babywearing.

It is free and everyone is welcome!

Community members are encouraged to help each other and try out each others carriers.

Babywearing consultant Zyanya, who set up ‘adapting to love’, will be present to provide guidance.

Special guests from the birthing/parenting community will also rotate to provide additional resources.

Check our website and FB page for more updates.

Prenatal Yoga

Tune in to your body, your breath and connect with your baby.

You will learn techniques to stay calm and present during this special time in your life.  The physical practices we do in the course will prepare your body to give birth, but often the awareness of body, mind and breath is what truly helps during labor.

The classes are led by Anne Hermans, an experienced yoga teacher specialized in prenatal yoga.

What Our Families are Saying

I really loved the messy play experience!! It’s the perfect opportunity for little ones to interact with other little ones and get messy in a safe environment while parents can take a small break.

My little boy had messy play for his 1st birthday and it was great! The kids ranged from 1 – 3 years and all had such a fun time playing in the gooey gunky stuff plus Leanne was super quick and efficient at cleaning up all the mess after. Highly recommend for any kids birthday.

This is a great setup for kids and parents. There’s just enough chaos for kids to love it, but little enough that we parents can still have a good chat with our tea/coffee. My 16-month-old has a great time, and our cleanup is just a splash on his hands and a quick change of his clothes. Highly recommended.

I highly recommend Messy play!!! My daughter had her birthday party there and her and her 13 friends loved everything about it!! Brilliant activities all hand made by the organiser and something totally different. Brilliant work messy play
